When two of my favorite companies collide...
Last year, Disney announced that it would be bringing Starbucks into the parks. Almost immediately, the s*&t hit the fan. I'll be one hundred percent honest with you, I was instantly excited. Having a Starbucks IN the park would mean one less stop in the mornings for me. It meant that one of my favorite beverages (which happens to be ABSOLUTELY PERFECT on a hot day) would be readily available should I be craving it when i'm schvitzing all over the park.
I had mixed feelings about them replacing the Main Street Bakery with the new Starbucks, as it had been a Main Street staple, but everything I had read promised seamless themeing, allowing it to blend in with the rest of it's surroundings. Another would be installed at the former location of Epcot's Fountainview Cafe and locations would later arrive at both Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom. Main Street Bakery, however, was the first to open it's doors.
After the Monsters U All-Nigher, I had sworn off MK for awhile. But if there's anything to pull me back toward's Cindy's castle, it's the promise of checking out something new and pairing it with a shaken iced passion tea lemonade.
The promise of blending it in with the rest of the park was done brilliantly. A small, single sign (showing the original Starbucks logo, opposed to the one we see today) hung above the entrance to the bakery and a few, subtle references to the Starbucks brand adorned the windows. The Main Street Bakery signage still remains, and as you walk inside, the themeing and decor is pretty much the same as it was before. The cast members don't wear a traditional Starbucks uniform, but instead don the same costumes worn by the cm's working next door at the ice cream parlor.
The menu is pretty much the same as any other Starbucks, the addition being the traditional Disney cookies, brownies, and cupcakes found throughout the park. SPOILER ALERT!!! THE CINNAMON ROLLS ARE NOT GONE. THEY'VE JUST MOVED!!! YOU CAN NOW FIND THEM AT GASTON'S TAVERN. - Apparently people are freaking the heck out over the disappearance of the cinnamon rolls. They're just at the back of the park, and personally if I'm eating one of those monsters, i'd probably need the extra walk to try and burn off at least a few of the calories packed into that ooey gooey mess of a pastry.
Now. One of the things that I really like about Magic Kingdom's newest addition, is that you can use your Starbucks card (or mobile app!), and you can acquire your reward stars through purchases. (Though you cannot REDEEM them.) This is cool in that that other theme park in the general vicinity that's had a Starbucks for some time now doesn't allow you to use your Starbucks cards for purchase.
The line was a little long when I got there, but moved pretty quickly. They have a lot of registers and it was packed with cm's bustling about filling orders, names being called out like it would in a regular Starbucks. (I'm anxious to see some of the silly names put on cups there.) There's no indoor seating, but I know there's limited seating outside and you can always take it around the corner near the plaza restaurant. The cups do say Starbucks on them, but also carry a little bit of a Disney touch. In this bloggers humble opinion, they're adorable. They also hold happiness, so there's that. One of the things I had expected would be a hike in prices, but I was very pleasantly surprised to see that the prices were pretty on par with the same store i'd have up the street.
I can see where some people would be up in arms, but for me, it's a welcome addition. I mean, it's not like Disney's never embraced an outside brand before. Remember the Mickey D's fries everyone used to love in Frontierland and Animal Kingdom? And I also happen to know that there's another coffee retailer pedaling it's goods within the parks AND YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW IT! Ha!
So, haters gonna hate. Me? I'll be enjoying these awesome beverages in the most magical (and caffeinated) place on Earth.

Sorry guys, I know I suck...
So I wanted to apologize for the lack of posts in case anyone actually does come check this out.
I know things kind of stopped abruptly and there's a reason for that.
Without going into too many details, on my way back from the 24 hour event, literally on the road, my life pretty much started going down the toilet. I know that sounds dramatic, but that's really the best way to describe it. Over the next few days, things would just go from bad to worse and eventually I pretty much got sent into a really, really dark place.
I didn't want to touch my blog or talk about the now tainted weekend that just a day or two before had been so, so very amazing. I didn't want to look at tumblr or be reminded of so many happy memories that I had tied up with Disney.
I'm not 100% better, but i'm getting there. I took my first trip back to Disney this past weekend and ventured into Epcot for a few hours. I smiled, I had fun, I enjoyed myself. No one is taking away something that makes me so happy, something that means so much to me, I can promise you that. It's just taking me time to get back to being myself and general, and lets face it, that's a big part of me.
So stick with me. Eventually i'll get around to telling you about the ridiculousness of spending a continuous twenty-four hours in the Magic Kingdom. (Which I did, in fact, accomplish). I've also got some cool stuff in mind to post on coming in the next few weeks, hopefully.
So if you're still here, Thank you. We'll be back to your regularly scheduled cheese before you know it. In the meantime, since i'm lacking in my own update, i'm leaving you with Wakefield, of the Wakefield Report's video coverage of our 24 hour adventure.

IS ANYBODY OUT THERE?!
The time has come! Boogying out of here in just a sec to swing by Starbucks and get over to MK.
I'm going to do my best to update at least hourly over at my tumblr, which can be found here!
Though the wifi is sketch at MK on a regular day and we all know i'm sometimes full of fail when it comes to getting updates done in a timely manner..so we'll see.
For now though? ALLONS-Y!!!

Totally met Al Roker. nbd.
Taking a quick break at the hotel enjoying the company of Stacey J. before changing and heading out to grab a drink and hit the pool at the Poly. On the fence if there's any parks in my future this afternoon.
The point of this post? To remind you all that it's an early night because....TWENTY FOUR HOURS OF MAGIC KINGDOM REALNESS TOMORROW!!!!!

It's never too early to start planning!
It's coming!! It may be over four months away, but Disney's given us a little taste of what's to come at this year's Food and Wine festival!
From September 27th through November 11th, you can snack and sip your way around the World Showcase. It's always a great time and probably my favorite time of the year to visit Epcot.
This year they're adding in a Scotland booth, so i'm willing to bet we're going to see a little Haggis this year. They're also bringing back Brazil with it's uhmayzing mahi mahi. (Now who do I talk to about getting the Puerto Rico booth back with those medianoches?) I'm als
o holding out hope that they'll bring the Nanaimo Bars back to Canada.
This year also marks the return of the celebrity chefs that seemed to be lacking this year. I'm particularly excited that they'll be hosting one of the baby deens and ROBERT IRVINE! Hopefully this year i'll be able to time myself correctly and not miss his presentation by twenty minutes. Ugh.
Then there's the bands. It seems like the usual line up, i'm kind of intrigued to maybe see the Spin Doctors. They've got everything ranging from the Pointer Sisters to Boyz II Men, to Hanson. Last year we were magically transported to 1993 after a long day of drinking courtesy of Smash Mouth.
OH AND THE BOG! The cranberry bog!
In the meantime, I'll be heading off to MGM and Epcot this weekend for the opening of Star Wars Weekends and the closing of the Flower and Garden festival, so expect some good stuff from that!

I'll be honest I just needed to announce this to the world...
I have the best boyfriend in the world.
He's on his way to my house with a Wawa Meatball Hoagie.
There's also a good chance I can convince him that watching a Disney movie with me is a good idea.
These are the benefits of being in a relationship with someone who has a degree in computer animation. He actually likes and genuinely enjoys the movies I love so much. Even if they're for different reasons.
I'm a lucky girl.
